I am in awe of what God has done in my life through these last two and a half weeks. Many of my friends had been to Africa before and I sought their advice to prepare myself . . .but that was the problem. I had been relying on myself for everything, my service, my career, my daily decisions, everything.
I’m really thankful that God humbled me early in the trip. On the first day of visitations, Mark Nakhla and I approached a group of men with the intent of sharing the Word of God. They initially did not welcome us. They had no desire to spend time with us. Most of the were drunk off of Shabuku, Zambia’s finest quality alcohol.
I had no idea what to say, so I just kept praying silently. Then they started to ask about agape, and I remembered Acts 2: 46-47. Honestly, I don’t know what I said, but I have every confidence that God was speaking through me. We spent an hour and twenty minutes but it felt like five. We felt victorious because God had taken control of the situation. He touched the lives of everyone there. God showed me that I am nothing, merely His servant, and that being used by Him was the way life should be lived.
So, please pray specifically that God water all of the seeds we have planted and for the group that will be helping with the mission in Kenya. Finally, please also pray that God strengthens us for the spiritual warfare awaiting us at home. Irini pasi.
