Today is our last day in Mexico and I must say that I never imagined going to both jail and the hospital all in the same day! As amazing as this trip was, I’ve never felt the enemy fighting me as hard as it has this week. My week started off really slow and sadly didn’t get any better. I watched people experience amazing things and quickly became disappointed with myself. Apparently it took God sending me to the hospital to get my out of the rut I was in. Thank God that there was nothing seriously wrong with me and the three other people that went, and somehow by the grace of God, everything came together and made a lot of sense to me on our last night there. God spoke to me pretty clearly when I heard the speaker say “sometimes God has to break us physically or emotionally, in order to heal us spiritually”, and that basically God has something specific to say to each and every single one of us and if we don’t listen he WILL get our attention. Sometimes he will shake us up a little so that we can slow down and listen. God spoke to me loud and clear and opened up my eyes to a weakness I have that I need to work on because a) its separating me from God and b) because getting over it brings me closer to God. So to whoever is reading this: LISTEN to God (and not just for 20 minutes every morning in quiet time, as someone wise said this week “don’t put God in a box”) he is speaking to us alllll the time, and do not be discouraged even if things go wrong or don’t work out your way. “Pray for brokenness, so that we have no where to look but up”. Remember that the enemy may be strong but our God is stronger. Don’t give up on God and he won’t give up on you.
