Gina Gharbawi

Since being here in Africa, I have been able to see God’s love in His people and to feel His presence when we worship Him. Since our journey to Africa, I have seen this love in our brothers and sisters who took care of us in London, in my fellow missionaries, the young orphans here in Zambia and in almost every person I encounter. The Zambian people truly do love God and know how important He is in their lives. More often than not, I feel as though I am learning more from them than they are from me. They still need our prayers. The Zambians must understand how to live a life with Christ after we’ve learned to love Him, the thing with which we all struggle greatly. The quiet time this morning was about when God told Moses and the children of Israel to sew tassels on the corners of all their garments. These tassels were to serve as a reminder of God’s commandments. These tassels also set them apart from other people. I pray that I, as well as my brothers and sisters here, remember to follow the commandments of God and allow Christ to speak through our actions. Please pray that our behavior sets apart as children of God and bring the Zambian people closer to Christ and further from sin.

I am so proud of you!!! You stepped out of your comfortable life here to really seek God. I am so happy that you’re experiencing Him there and I am definitely praying for you and for all the missionaries there that this is a time of renewal for you. I also pray that we all will be set apart as His children. I miss you and can’t wait to see you in London! Love, Julie
