Mission The MLC Hope Clinic is committed to providing spiritual and comprehensive, quality healthcare of uninsured low-income patients through a staff of dedicated volunteers and partnerships with Christian Churches in Fairfax. Long Term Vision Christian Free Clinic served by volunteers open 6 days a wekk serving the uninsured of Fairfax both spiritually and physically by addressing their immediate needs and empowering them to meet their daily needs. History of MLC Hope Clinic In 2006, a group of doctors from St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church had the idea to offer medical services to members without health insurance. The doctors started slowly and saw about 4-5 patients per week. As the congregation started to learn about this service, the number increased. At the time, this service did not have a name. The small group of servants first started seeing patients in one of the classrooms belonging to Little Flock Christian school, located inside the church building. Numbers slowly increased and patients would wait in the hallway for their turn to be seen. The ministry consisted of a small group of doctors and no admin staff. In 2007, the clinic then moved to the basement of the church where a waiting room area was added. In was shortly after this move, that Mission Life Center got involved and undertook the clinic as one of their programs. MLC brought in just a couple of volunteers to contribute to the administrative side of the ministry. After staying in this space for about a year, the ministry continued to grow and it was time yet again to move to a bigger space.
In October of 2008, Clinic officially moved to a building donated to MLC by St. Mark's. The new space consists of a full waiting room/reception area, two patient rooms, an office for social services, a pharmacy, and a full lab area. In April of 2010 the clinic moved to its current loation on Main St. serving all in Fairfax that meet the qualifications of the clinic of being uninsured and at or below a household income of 200% of the poverty level.
