The OZ Project is responding to such community needs by providing physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual care for these children. In conjunction with St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church Coptic Hospital and Hope Center, the children are given free medical care on-site. Home visits by mentors are set up to provide children with any missing necessities such as food, clothing, and blankets, as well as to provide emotional support to children. Additionally, the Coptic Church has established a preparatory community school, St. Abanoub Christian School, to provide the children with a quality education that is free of charge. The children learn subjects such as English, math, health and hygiene, and music. They are also given Bible classes in the school and take part in planned monthly spiritual days. In this way, the OZ Project encourages spiritual growth and fosters a community of local future missionaries for Zambia. |
